Sally Kaplan Levy is a founding partner of Ankner & Levy. For over thirty years, Sally has maintained a general health law practice, counseling hospitals, physician groups, individual providers, and others in the health care industry on transactional, regulatory, tax-exemption and patient care issues. She works with health care clients to form and restructure both taxable and tax-exempt organizations, structure and negotiate contractual relationships, and maintain regulatory compliance. Sally also assists clients with general counsel matters including policy drafting and interpretation, managing employee relationships and assessing the legal implications of operational changes.

Sally is a member of the Massachusetts bar, the Boston Bar Association (Health and Tax Sections), the Massachusetts Women’s Bar Association, and the American Health Lawyers Association. She regularly speaks to audiences of lawyers, health care providers and health care administrators on a wide range of topics, including patient care law, health regulatory and tax compliance and corporate organization and reorganization. She has served as guest faculty at Brandeis University for a course on ethics in health care. Sally has also been named a Massachusetts “Super Lawyer” in Boston Magazine every year since 2004, as a Chambers-ranked lawyer every year since 2010, and as a Forbes Black Book lawyer.

Sally earned her law degree from Harvard Law School. She earned her undergraduate degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Pennsylvania, where she majored in health care systems and biomedical anthropology and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. Prior to forming Ankner & Levy, Sally was a partner in the Health Law Department of McDermott Will & Emery in Boston. She has served on the Boards of Directors of the Rashi School in Dedham, Massachusetts and the Longwood Medical Area Child Care Center.
